What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique based on the belief that vital energy flows through all living things. Mikao Usui developed Reiki (pronounced ray-key) in the early 1900s from the Japanese words rei (universal) and ki (universal life energy).
The concept is simple - we feel good, have energy for our day and have little or no health issues when we have a good flow of energy through our bodies. However, as energy slows down and becomes blocked, we may start to notice any number of physical, mental, or emotional issues rise.
Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive therapy healing art that promotes good health by increasing the flow of energy to the body and enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It is gentle enough for all ages including children as well as pets and plants.
Reiki can be complimentary to many other types of therapies and treatments. In fact, it can be performed on people who cannot move, may be sensitive to touch, or can't tolerate other types of therapies.

Reiki Treatments - What To Expect

Each session usually begins with a custom holistic nurse assessment and a short discussion regarding your health including the current issue(s) you'd like to address.
During the treatment, I allow universal life energy to pass through my hands to your body. My hands are either lightly on or just above you. My intuition guides me and healing energy always knows where to go for the issues we've discussed.

You remain fully dressed so please wear comfortable clothing, you can be seated or reclined. The room will be calming and relaxing. Soft music, candles and aromatic scents may be added to the treatment, please let me know if you have any preferences or concerns.
Most clients feel very calm and relaxed during a session and even feel refreshed after, like they've taken a short nap. It is normal to experience sensations such as heat or tingling as well.
